Welcome to our first Green Hero Event, this is an exciting time to come together and support a Young boy fighting a battle with cancer. This event is to raise funds for 8yr old Joshua Welgemoed who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Ocotber 2013. Read his story here bugkiller0071.blogspot.com

LETS KICK CANCER'S BUTT!!
A portion of funds raised will be used to assist other children with Cancer. Children with Cancer is on the increase and has a profound effect on everyone it touches. With empathetic support and correct information it is possible not only to survive but end up stronger, wiser and with more compassion.
The cancers that affect children are generally unique to those that affect adults and the incidence of childhood cancer is 150 in a million worldwide. In South Africa, one in 600 hundred children is affected by cancer before the age of 16. The encouraging news is that if diagnosed early, 70%-85% of children can be cured.
In South Africa, less than half of the children are diagnosed early enough and reach a treatment centre in time. Many are diagnosed too late with an advanced stage of cancer for the treatment to have much chance of success and half are never diagnosed and so receive no treatment. There are many Angels looking down on us everyday...

From Durban N2 take Ifafa turn off exit 84 turn right and head inland for 2km's to the Old South Coast Road R102 turn left at T-Junction. Drive about 800m and turn right onto D560 then 2km until loading zone parking area.
